it was ok. You had a good idea; and manifested it with fairly good graphics; so in terms of design; well done. However, the card system (as innovative as it is), can get extremely annoying; especially when you play with a wizard and get only fighting cards, and vice versa....which seemed to happen an awful lot.
Quite ruins the game in my opinion. So like others suggested, a deck forming option would be great, but otherwise yeah; i would like to see more from you.

great concept, and i love how you made up the storyline. It was quite simple, and i would've loved more upgrades; but it was good. For a first submission to NG, you have done extremely well! Lemme enjoy this a while more while i'm still top of the high score table xD

Considering the quality of NG rumble, i'd have to guess you spent more time on that?
This game was good, your idea was excellent; and i loved how everything was precise, down to descriptions/explanations. Like when describing coins, you tell us that they are used for barter with gods etc etc; whereas many other games would be just like, "used for buying stuff"
The system of spells was intricate; and you had some pretty creative spells there. You definitely have some creative genius about you.
I'm not entirely sure where you were going with the sound; because the first few screens gave me the feeling the game was going to be relatively serious-typed. But the hona lee (or something like that) level's music was very kiddy; which added a relatively kiddy feel to the game. Which i didn't mind, i just got a bit confused haha.
Animations were good; although slightly simplistic, and sometimes i noticed problems with hit detection; but nothing major.
I did;however, have a problem with your character control. The controls were extremely sensitive, and i (on more than one occasion) almost gave up due to the extreme response the character gave to controls.
It could be because i suck; lol, but i haven't had that problem with many other games, of much much less caliber than this one. It's not hard to kill enemies; it's hard to stay ON the platform while killing them.
You did very good though; i liked it alot. And i also like how you take your reviews critically; and learn from them, unlike SOME other authors who just yell back insults.
Well done again! Hope to see more games from you in future!
Author's Response:
Thanks, you have a good eye for detail. I agree that - stylistically - the game was all over the place. There's just so much to convey in a small little Flash game. If it were console length, I could blend between the worlds a little better. Unfortunately not the case.
As far as NGR, I agree. More time was spent on it, and the character animations were done by ... character animators, heheh. I'm decent for a programmer but still mainly a programmer. BoM's enemies were a more fluid showing of animation.
Thanks again.

Needed some work;
things like the bombs exploding before the car actually touched them, on easy difficulty this was ok; but on the harder difficulties; where you have less lives - it was relatively frustrating. The sound was ok, needed a bit more life in it though, perhaps some background music?
the idea of the game is unoriginal; but at least you did it in a way that made it mildly entertaining.
I did, however, like the control of the car; the way it skidded and all; perhaps you should look into making a birds-eye view racing game instead.

I dont really know what many of the reviewers here are complaining about concerning reflexes; if you try hard enough - it's quite easy to get a positive score.
The idea was great; i loved the game in itself - the graphics , needless to say were excellent, the sound was great; i liked the song. It's amazing how you can incorporate your ideas into different genre of games; you keep your reputation as usual.
well done!

I think the thing you had going for you was the concept; it's definitely not the best defense game out there - and somehow sort of seemed like a copy of Xeno,
the graphics i thought suited your theme; which was probably the best aspect of the game, i dont think i've heard of this idea before - stick figures invading the world - but it was good; i liked the concept. The game was tough, especially on higher difficulties; but just too repetitive at times, i dont think the attack animations were fantastic either.
The sound was tedious and i turned the volume off after level 20; i think to improve this overall; the design should have a redo - the animations were somewhat less than stellar.
Otherwise, the concept was great; the interface was easy to use and it's a defense game worth a shot if you're looking for some decent fun for around 5-10 minutes.

excellent work. I enjoyed this game very much; even though admittedly i was too lazy to buy extra ammo so i just used the pistols and fully charged them.
The graphics were amazing for this game, worked perfectly well; they style was amazing. I loved how the character would make random comments, and the gun sounds were realistic. The bunnies were a very good theme, and they were all animated very well.
It was a really good game, thank you for making it. I hope to see more from you in future!

needless to say, it's quite obvious to see that you're a professional from this entry. From the way the sound blended in perfectly with the way the story played out all the way to the outstanding graphics and animations.
I enjoyed it alot, having played a few MMORPGs, i could understand exactly what you were talking about; especially the 10,000 slimes part haha; i think you chose a really good subject, since most people have played MMORPGs before - and therefore can relate better to your work.
If you were to do it again, i'd urge you to streamline the story, rather than segment it. It's true that it was all based around the 'quest' of finding 10,000 slimes etc; but the seperate sections seemed very detached because at times the view point left the main characters and moved on to a side story.
But seriously; i liked it. and i hope you do another MMORPG spoof in the near future. I look forward to seeing the sequal to this!
Author's Response:
The disconnected story structure reflects the "sketch" mentality that I wrote this film with. However, unlike most sketch shows, I did try to create a unifying thread through them. ie. We learn that Kaolyne has given up killing (b&w scene) before she counsels others.
Thanks for the review.

"An improvement on the ordinary defense game."
I liked it alot; i dont know why; perhaps it was the asian theme and the nice attack animations. I have a feeling this game will do well; sure it wasn't TOO original, but it was an improvement on many defense games out there. Well done.
The only thing was that perhaps it moved a bit too slow; and you need quite a few turns to rake up enough money to buy those sacred towers or even research. But i think generally, the sound and nice animations were great, and the depth with research and different towers was excellent. Keep up the good work.
